Instructor

It is known to be a great honor for scuba divers when they are awarded the diving instructor certification as this is considered to be one of the most respected. A scuba diving instructor tag will remain with you for the rest of your life but that is not the only achievement; you will get to follow a career that will take you to the depths of the oceans and help you to train probables. It is the satisfaction of the job mixed with the numbness of the ocean and the mission of rescuing, watching, or teaching students that makes the career of a scuba diving so much more exciting.

Courses are offered by both PADI and NAUI apart from many other schools but our recommendation is that you should look for the best because being an instructor is a responsible job. So you can choose to do the course from either NAUI or PADI. What are the benefits?

The real benefits

The real benefits of being a scuba diving instructor are many like:

  • You will get tons of experience as a professional scuba diver
  • You will be able to offer your experience and technical skills to new divers
  • You will enjoy teaching responsibilities that will include both practical and theoretical training sessions.

The Learning Curve

The learning curve for a scuba diving instructor is not the easiest but it is not impossible too and add some fun, some diving, and some great experiences and you have the certification! Way to go!

Basically, as you move ahead in the learning curve, you will focus on building upon your existing capabilities so that you are in a better position to organize as well as supervise any scuba diving activities. This will be apart from developing the required teaching skills. Your learning curve will include:

  • Focus on development of knowledge through participation in discussions & lectures, self-study programs, quizzes, and even presentations
  • The main emphasis will be on confined water skill assessment and reviews, presentations, and workshops
  • There will be various programs and tests like rescue assessments, open water workshops, as well as candidate presentations

The Instructor Course

The Instructor Courses offered by some of the reputed scuba diving schools will consist of multiple sections like:

  • Academic Training: This section will include snorkeling programs, scuba diving programs, knowledge development programs, technical projects and presentations, and Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialties modules.
  • Teaching: The teaching part will take into account both confined water and open water.
  • Practical Application: Most of the practical applications will include dives in open water and confined water followed by a dive rescue skills assessment and an exam.
