The Specialty Instructor CourseOne of the most interesting aspects of the specialty instructor course is that you will learn different types of diving like cave diving, ice diving, rescue diving, deep diving etc. All the specialty courses are targeted at different aspects of diving from gaining technical knowledge to learning about dives. You can choose from a range of specialty instructor courses with PADI offering as much as 27 different courses. The good thing about specialty instructor training is that if you have 5 specialty instructor ratings then you will be eligible for the prestigious Master Scuba Diving Trainer (MSDT) rating. Open Water Instructor RequirementsThere are certain requirements for the open water instructor course as this is an advanced program and needs some amount of experience and skills. The requirements include: - You need to be over 18 years of age
- You should have an Assistant Instructor certification. Alternatively, you can also show six months of work experience as an instructor with any scuba diving training school
- You should have successfully completed an IDC or an open water scuba instructor program in the last 12 months
- You should have logged at least 10 dives in each of the specialty
- You need to show proof of CPR training taken in the last 24 months
- You have to submit a Medical clearance for health and fitness, which is signed by a physician
