SCUBA Knives

It is common for divers to carry with them at least one knife along with their other SCUBA gear. Knives come in handy if you get tangled in fishing line, or snag your gear on coral. Unless you're in the movies, you're unlikely to find a way to use a knife for offensive or defensive tactics against a shark! The choice of the knife is primarily centered upon the alloy with which it is made; the most widely used one being that of the stainless steel. As it is chrome coated, it is resistant to rusting and is also highly durable. The serration and ground in line cutters allows easier cutting of the ropes with these knives. It is often wise to carry a backup knife. This will come handy if the first knife is not reachable or if the first knife has become blunt or dull.
