SCUBA tanks are used for stores compressed air for breathing used by divers under water. Important parts of the tank are valve, burst disk, inspection decal. Capacity of your tank is measured in pressurized cubic feet. An average tank holds about 80 cubic feet of air. There are tanks ranging in size from 65 to 100 cubic feet. A popular form of scuba tank is the pony tank. It functions as an emergency backup supply of air. Other types are aluminum tanks and steel scuba tanks. Aluminum tanks are widely used however steel tanks are more durable and expensive than aluminum. |
